Welcome To My Identity Crisis

A Bum Without A Beach is my third WordPress blog in the past 2 years. Nikki thinks that I enjoy setting up a new blog more than actually blogging, it’s like a a toy on Christmas morning. That being said, she also knows that I have an opinion on most things and she believes that there is a blogger in me just waiting to be released.

I’m 45, so maybe this is a midlife crisis. If it is, I guess a blog is better than me running to the mall to purchase a pair of skinny jeans from the girl with green hair at Forever 21, or worse yet blowing my family’s savings on a convertible sports car with a vanity plate that says G FUNK. I think age is all mental, so instead of a midlife crisis, let’s call it an identity crisis.

My first blog was meant to be a place for me to share my thoughts, but I wasn’t in a “blogging” place in my life I guess. My second blog was a place for me to share my photography, but I have recently felt stifled and boxed in by having a photography blog. A Bum Without A Beach is the perfect marriage of both. Check out my About Me page for where the title comes from.

My hope is to connect with, inspire, motivate, and bring laughter to the WordPress community. My dream is that one day I will be doing this from a laptop with a little bit of sand on the keyboard.

    1. I don’t think I have the focus to handle multiple blogs. I’m part squirrel, if I see something shiny I’m off and running. I will eventually shut down Steve Newcomb Photo, but I will continue to validate parking 🙂

  1. Hello my fellow beach bum friend. I’ve been meaning to get here to say hi. Your new blog’s looking great Steve, lots of room for creative expression I see. Watch out world! Enjoy it all. 😎
